In August 2025, the Woodchopper’s Ball is offering a special monthly class series for members of Jeff & Mimi Liu-Leyco’s March-April 2025 Balboa Performance group, the Fog City Shufflers, in preparation to perform at Camp Hollywood in August-September 2025. This monthly class series runs on Tuesdays for 4 weeks: August 5, 12, 19, and 26.

You must register in advance (by Tuesday, July 15, 11:59pm), to guarantee yourself a spot in class and a spot on the team that will perform at Camp Hollywood.

Enrollment includes admission to the live music Dance Parties immediately following each week’s classes for the whole month!

COVID-19 Safety Precautions

As of July 2024, and continuing until further notice, the COVID-19 policy at the Woodchopper’s Ball is as follows:

- Masking is welcome, but optional, at all times.
- Free masks are still available upon request.
- Eating is allowed.

Performance Balboa

Dates: Tuesdays, August 5, 12, 19, 26 (4 weeks)
Time: 9:00-10:00pm (upstairs)
Instructors: Jeff & Mimi Liu-Leyco & Katie O’Neill
Description: The performance group will be led by Jeff and Mimi Liu-Leyco, both of whom bring over 15 years of performance and teaching experience in Balboa and Lindy Hop, and Katie O’Neill, longtime swing dancer, instructor, and performer.
Prerequisites: Must have been a member of Jeff & Mimi’s March-April 2025 Balboa Performance group, the Fog City Shufflers, and must commit to attending and performing at Camp Hollywood (Aug 28-Sep 1, 2025).
Cost: $90/person ($45/person discount pricing with instructor permission only) All prices include admission to the August 2025 Dance Parties. No drop-ins.

Registering for More than One Class Series in the Same Month

After registering for the Performance Balboa class series (9:00-10:00pm) above, you may register for an additional monthly class series scheduled during the same month, and pay only half-price for that additional class! If and when you register for the additional class, set the Class Type option for that additional class to “Additional Monthly Class”.
